Most people do not appear to want to discuss often complex or subtle ethical issues in a calm, rational, and objective manner that is sometimes difficult and relativistic. Most people I observe prefer to moralize, take a stand (or a soapbox) promoting partisanship and polarization.

Sometimes this is because it is really due to their beliefs but as often as not it is a convenient way of dividing and conquering larger groups, rallying your own base, or still other times simply to profit from sensationalism and exploit zealotry.

I think you are correct however that this tribe should be virtually sizzling with interest and yet here we are; quiet isn't it?

Yes, and that's sad. I've done some reading in bioethics and taken a course but that's just scratching the surface. There's so much going on, and things advance daily. I should think there would be a world of things to teach each other and learn from each other.
